• PROJECT’S NUMBER: POIR.01.01.01-00-1080/20-00
  • PROJECT’S AIM: The aim of the project is to develop and validate in real conditions (operational environment) a technology for recycling of waste lithium-ion. This is the ELION response to an identified market need and projected a sharp increase in the volume of waste batteries. There is no extensive battery recycling sector capable of managing large volumes of waste batteries across Europe, and the individual facilities that have declared such capability are very few in number (approximately 10 across Europe) and have far from sufficient capacity. In Poland, where there is currently no li-ion battery recycling facility covering the entire process, i.e. including treatment of the so-called black mass, this situation is particularly clear and unfavorable.

  • Planned effects: The main effect of the project will be a field-verified technology for recycling used lithium-ion batteries allowing recovery of the most valuable elements, including cobalt and lithium.
